Smashburger Tacos Recipe
Ingredients
For the Smashburger Patties
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
For the Tacos
- 12 small tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomato
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- Your favorite salsa or hot sauce
Instructions
To make the Smashburger Patties
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of the vegetable oil in a large griddle or pan over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, take one portion of the beef mixture and place it on the griddle.
- Using a spatula, smash the beef patty down into a thin disc that is about 4-5 inches in diameter.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the patties are browned and cooked through.
- Remove the patties from the griddle and set aside.
- Repeat steps 3-7 with the remaining beef patties and vegetable oil.
To assemble the Tacos
- Warm the tortillas in a microwave or oven.
